City of Hampton’s Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is forming a Youth Advisory Group

Young people between the ages of 13 and 19 ar encouraged to join.

Hampton’s DEI office is looking for young people between the ages of 13 and 19 to join the Youth Advisory Group. Our mission is dedicated to making sure Hampton is welcoming, supportive and inclusive of all citizens, “regardless of race, color, class, religion, age, disability, ethnicity, sexual orientation or gender identity.”
As an extension of the Unity Commission, the advisory group represents the voice of young people on issues related to diversity and inclusion. The group’s goal is to increase opportunities for Hampton’s young people to have meaningful conversations on diversity and inclusion, and to plan and execute events that raise awareness about diversity and inclusion among Hampton teens. Advisory group members should live in Hampton or attend a Hampton city school.
Advisory group applications are available online at www.hampton.gov/unity. All applications should be emailed to gabe.diaz@hampton.gov. For more information, call 757-728-3279.
