Originally established in 1997, The Rainbow Cactus has been Virginia Beach’s home for the LGBTQ+ community and our amazing allies for more than two decades. We first opened our doors at 3472 Holland Road, creating a safe, joyful space where everyone gay, straight, and in between could come together, celebrate freely, and feel at home.
In 2023, we proudly began a new chapter at 475 South Lynnhaven Road. Our new space carries the same heart, spirit, and vibrant energy that’s made The Rainbow Cactus a cornerstone of Hampton Roads nightlife and community pride.
From our legendary drag shows and high-energy dance nights to community events and fundraisers that bring people together, The Rainbow Cactus has always been more than a bar it’s a place where friendship, acceptance, and pride thrive.
