First Ollie Awards aim to spotlight Hampton Roads LGBTQ changemakers

  • February 12, 2026

Outlife757 and Hear Media + Marketing, LLC announced the launch of the Ollie Awards, a new program recognizing people, organizations and businesses that make the Hampton Roads LGBTQ community an affirmative and safe place to live, work and play.

The awards will honor individuals and groups across several categories, including advocacy, business, arts and community service. Organizers also will present the first Legend Award to an individual whose long-term work has significantly impacted the local LGBTQ community.

Nominations are open to the public and can be submitted at outlife757.com/the-ollies.

The nomination period runs through March 15, 2026. Finalists will be announced later in March, and winners will be revealed during a live awards ceremony in April 2026 at The Wave in Norfolk.

“The Ollie Awards are needed more than ever,” said Eric Hause, founder of Outlife757. “At a time when many in our community are facing uncertainty, this is about lifting people up, recognizing their impact and bringing the LGBTQ community together.”

A panel of seven LGBTQ community leaders will serve as judges and select winners in each category.

Organizers encourage anyone in Hampton Roads to submit nominations for individuals and organizations making a positive difference in the LGBTQ community.
