PHOTOS: The Virginia Queer Film Festival Posts a Successful Third Year

  • October 3, 2025

The Virginia Queer Film Festival’s successful third year featured 33 films from four countries as well as talkbacks with filmmakers, two workshops with local creators Dan Mathews and Jack Ryan, and a screening of Dr. Charles Ford’s Red Lights and Civil Rights film.

“This year saw our best attendance yet,” said director Eric Hause, “and it’s apparent that the value of showcasing original films from our community continues to grow in importance.”

The three-day event is jointly produced by the Festival and Old Dominion University’s film department at the University Theatre.
