First Annual BIPOC Pride Celebration

  • October 3, 2025

The first annual BIPOC Pride Celebration was held in Virginia Beach September 12-14. The three day celebration was presented by Thriving Transmen of Color in partnership with the Coastal Virginia Unitarian Universalists Racial Justice Task Force. The celebration offered workshops, panels, a community festival with vendors and performances, voter registration, a blood drive, and a scholarship award ceremony. The goal was to celebrate the culture, resilience, and joy of the LGBTQ+ BIPOC community while addressing health disparities and providing resources and support. Photos courtesy of Mel Howard.
