Rainbow Families Meetup

Looking for families to meet in the area with LGBTQ+ parents and/or kids? Join us for Rainbow Families at North Suffolk Library where you can make family-friendly activities and crafts, try fun games, learn about local resources, and make friends! Activities are geared toward ages 10 and older, with caregiver involvement for those younger. For families.

Drop in anytime between 10:00am – 11:30am. No registration required.

January 14 – Winter Wonderslime!
Come make some fun and sparkly slime while we read “When Glitter Met Glue,” by Karen Kilpatrick!

February 25 – Giftbox Decorating
Grab your favorite colors and let’s decorate some gift boxes for your special someone this year or for yourself while you try some homemade double chocolate ganache ice-cream! We’ll be reading “A Song for the Unsung: Bayard Rustin, the man behind the 1963 March on Washington” by Carole Boston Weatherford with our friends at the LGBT Life Center!

March 18 – Equali-Tea Candles and Bingo
Make your own colors of candles and learn about historic figures who supported equality throughout history with LGTBingo! We’ll be reading “Mama and Mommy and Me in the Middle” by Nina LaCour.

April 8 – Nature-themed Blow Painting
Celebrate Earth Day by making your own watercolor paintings using a straw! We’ll be reading “Me and My Dysphoria Monster” by Laura Kate Dale this month.
