St Mark Lutheran Church and Sine Nomine presents The Virginia Handbell Consort under the direction of Mr. Al Reese on Sunday, December 3, 2023 at 5:00 PM. St Mark Lutheran Church is located at 118 Old York-Hampton Highway, Yorktown, VA 23692.
The Virginia Handbell Consort is celebrating over 20 years of sharing the joy of ringing. They return to St. Mark for a program of holiday music. The program, A Magic Night, will feature “something for everyone!” The program will feature traditional arrangements of holiday favorites as well as original arrangements by maestro Al Reese. Begin your Advent season with this festive program, and usher in the holiday season.
The Virginia Handbell Consort is comprised of auditioned musicians performing on over five octaves of Schulmerich bells, five and a half octaves of Melody Chimes, three octaves of Petit and Fritsen bells, and other percussion instruments.
The program is free and open to the public. Donations will be accepted to help support the concert series. A reception following the program will provide an opportunity to meet and talk with Mr. Reese, members of the ensemble, and purchase recordings. Call 898-4395 for additional information.
