This Sunday, Pride in the ‘Peake, a 501(c)(3) located in Chesapeake, Va., will host a resource fair on December 15 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Central Library located at 298 Cedar Road, Chesapeake, Va., 23322.
“During these uncertain times, we wanted to assist LGBTQIA+ families and individuals with finding resources they may need to protect themselves and their families,” said Amber Bowmer, president at Pride in the ‘Peake.
Resources Provided
Over 20 different professional organizations and community resources will be available to answer questions, provide notary services, and offer advice during the event. Among these resources will be mental health providers, lawyers, and representatives from law enforcement.
“We have had a number of families reach out asking about protecting their marriage, their adoptions, and keeping their families safe,” said Erin Rivera, Community Engagement Director, Pride in the ‘Peake. “Our resource fair has gathered a variety of experts in their field to assist families in preparing for any possibility.”
