The Virginia Arts Festival is happy to once again work with Teens With A Purpose to present Fuse Fest on Saturday, August 3 from 12 noon – 7:00 pm. Fuse Fest is a celebration of the power of community and features local and regional artists at Purpose Park, 801 Church Street in Norfolk, for a full day of free outdoor entertainment.
This year’s Fuse Fest features Hip Hop Olympics, Reiki healing, interactive art, plant-based chef demos & tastings, and three different stages featuring an array of musical genres.
Fuse Fest is an annual reminder of the Power of Community and this year’s theme is Planet Hope, centering around environmental justice and the impact our surroundings, our food, and our entire planet have on marginalized communities.
Partners this year include The National Partner HIP HOP Caucus; Screening of The Under Water Project; Support + Feed founded by Maggie Baird, mother of Grammy Award-winning artists Billie Eilish and Finneas, provides free plant-based meals, a vegan Black Chef demo, and mini hands-on learning sessions.
TWP is a non-profit organization with over 26 years of experience in Creative Youth Development. TWP curates & delivers events, workshops, and curriculums. In Norfolk, Virginia, TWP offers year-round programming to under-resourced youth in the surrounding community called The St. Paul’s Quadrant, the only dedicated Teen Center in the City, fully staffed and run by TWP. Providing original Creative Youth Development programming, TWP facilitators, performing artists, and contributing artists engage in the genres of Performance Poetry; Music & music production, Urban Gardening, Place Making, Digital Production, Visual Art, Space-making, and Yoga.
