Creating a Safe and Inclusive Space

Welcome to the Outlife757 community! Our mission is to highlight, connect, and serve the vibrant LGBTQ+ and allied communities of Hampton Roads, Virginia. These standards are designed to ensure that our website, event listings, and all associated platforms remain a respectful, inclusive, and positive space for everyone.

1. Respect and Inclusion are Non-Negotiable

We are dedicated to fostering a community that celebrates the diversity of the 757 area.

  • Zero Tolerance for Hate: We have a zero-tolerance policy for discrimination, harassment, or hate speech based on, but not limited to, race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, age, disability, or veteran status.

  • Respectful Dialogue: Engage with others civilly, even when you disagree. Do not use abusive, threatening, or dehumanizing language. Attacks on individuals or groups, including slurs or misgendering, will not be tolerated.

  • Promote Safety: Do not share content that promotes self-harm, violence, illegal acts, or the harassment of others.

2. Quality and Relevance of Content

To keep our community resources valuable and relevant, especially for event submissions, we ask that all content adheres to the following:

  • On-Topic: Content, particularly event submissions, should be relevant and of interest to the LGBTQ+ and progressive communities of Hampton Roads.

  • Accuracy: Please ensure all information you provide, whether in comments, event listings, or directory submissions, is factually correct and not misleading.

  • No Spam or Commercial Exploitation: Do not use our platforms solely for mass-marketing, repetitive posts, or unsolicited commercial content. Promotional content should be submitted through appropriate channels, such as advertising or event submissions, and must still adhere to all other standards.

3. Protecting Privacy

We value the privacy of our community members.

  • Do Not Dox: Never share an individual's private or personally identifiable information (such as phone numbers, addresses, or private messages) without their explicit consent.

  • Respect Boundaries: Our platform is not a place for non-consensual sharing of intimate or explicit media.

4. Enforcement and Moderation

The Outlife757 team reserves the right to enforce these standards to protect our community.

  • Right to Refuse/Remove: We reserve the right to review, edit, or refuse any content (including articles, event listings, comments, or submissions) that we deem inappropriate, irrelevant, or in violation of these standards.

  • Consequences of Violation: Violations may result in the immediate removal of content, temporary suspension, or permanent banning from using Outlife757 platforms.
