Diversity Richmond and Virginia Pride Bring Back “Pride at the Park” at Kings Dominion

    Jul 21, 2026

Beloved event celebrating the LGBTQ+ community returns after years-long hiatus.

Diversity Richmond and its Virginia Pride program are excited to announce the return of Pride at the Park on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Kings Dominion. This all-ages celebration combines a full day of thrills at one of Virginia's premier amusement parks with an exclusive mini-Pride festival designed to bring the LGBTQ+ community and allies together for a day of fun, visibility, and connection.

From 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., guests are invited to the Kings Dominion Pavilions for an exciting mini-Pride celebration featuring community organizations, music, entertainment, giveaways, and one of the region's most exciting drag performances.

    This year's event includes:

    • An exclusive mini-Pride festival inside Kings Dominion

    • Community organizations and activities from partners across the region

    • A dance party with DJ Amy Alderman

    • A spectacular drag celebration headlined by RuPaul’s Drag Race alum Mhi'ya Queen of Flips, with performances by Richmond favorites Alvion Arnell Davenport, Just Jasmen, and Arik LeDouche

    • An exclusive "Pride at the Park" beer from Center of the Universe Brewing Company

    • Giveaways and prizes from community sponsors (while supplies last)

Specially-priced tickets are available exclusively through the Diversity Richmond website.  General admission tickets are $50 per person and include all-day admission to Kings Dominion, free parking, and access to the Pride festival. VIP tickets are available for $78 per person and include a catered lunch and an exclusive meet-and-greet with Mhi'ya Queen of Flips. Tickets must be purchased online by August 6. No tickets for “Pride at the Park” will be sold at the gate.

Proceeds from the sale of tickets will support the work of Diversity Richmond and Virginia Pride.

"Pride at the Park is about creating joyful spaces where our community can gather, celebrate, and simply have fun together," said Chris Schoen, Communications and Development Manager for Diversity Richmond. "Whether you're riding roller coasters, dancing with friends, or cheering on an incredible lineup of drag performers, this event is a reminder that LGBTQ+ joy deserves to be celebrated all year long."

As part of Virginia Pride's Endless Summer of Pride, “Pride at the Park” continues Diversity Richmond's commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for connection throughout the year. By bringing Pride into one of Virginia's most iconic destinations, the event welcomes longtime supporters, first-time attendees, families, and allies to celebrate in an inclusive and affirming environment.

“Pride at the Park” is made possible with support from the Virginia Lottery and Virginia is for Lovers.

Tickets are available now and must be purchased in advance.
