Stonewall Sports is Looking for Volunteer Leaders to Assist with the National Tournament

The Norfolk Chapter is organizing volunteers and filling leadership roles.

The energy of the Hampton Roads LGBT communiy is about to get even more vibrant. Stonewall Sports, Inc., in a proud partnership with the Stonewall Sports Norfolk chapter, has officially announced that the 2026 National Tournament will be held in Virginia Beach, Virginia, from October 22–25, 2026.

This marks a significant “remix” for the organization’s 12th annual flagship event, moving the competition and community festivities to the iconic Virginia oceanfront for a weekend of inclusive sports and philanthropy. 

The 2026 National Tournament is expected to draw nearly 3,000 LGBTQIA+ athletes and allies from across the United States. While the tournament is rooted in competitive spirit, its primary mission remains fostering a supportive environment where everyone can be their authentic selves.

The decision to bring the tournament to The Resort City highlights the strength of the local Norfolk chapter and the inclusive growth of the Hampton Roads region.

In its national announcement, Stonewall Sports said, “The Norfolk chapter is inviting you to the gorgeous Hampton Roads, ready to welcome you for a weekend of competition and community.”

Stonewall Sports Norfolk is currently recruiting for the Virginia Beach Tournament Committee. Local volunteers are needed to help coordinate logistics, social events, and hospitality to ensure the thousands of visiting athletes experience the best of Virginia hospitality.
